Pancake Tuesday in Cloverfield N.S.
There was great excitement among all on Shrove Tuesday, 21st February as children from Junior and Senior Infants got to work mixing the batter for pancakes for all. They carefully weighed, measured and mixed while reciting a short poem "Mix a pancake, Stir a pancake, Pop it in the pan! Fry a pancake, Toss a pancake, Catch it if you can!" Teachers then took the classes to the kitchen of the nearby "Teach Drámaíochta" where the pancakes were fried, tossed, decorated and enjoyed!

HALLELUJAH 2011 Concert Series
In September, 2011 Principal Mrs O'Dea announced that a group of pupils from 2nd to 6th classes would be travelling to the RDS in Dublin on Sunday, 11th December, 2011 to form part of the Hallelujah Choir to sing with The High Kings among others under the direction of Gearóid Grant. There was great excitement among pupils, staff and parents as this was to be our first experience of "Hallalujah". A large collection of songs had to be learnt and CDs were copied for all and songs from some time ago as well as more modern ones were soon being sung at home and in cars as well as at school. Hallelujah T-shirts were ordered, concert tickets reserved, a bus booked and before we knew it we were on our way to the RDS. A great day was enjoyed by all and the concert was an experience that all will undoubtedly remember for many years to come.

Team Hope Christmas Boxes 2011
Once again the pupils and staff decided to fill and wrap shoe boxes as part of the Team Hope project. The children really enjoy preparing the boxes which bring the joy of Christmas to children less well off. In early November, 2011 over 60 boxes were collected from Cloverfield NS to begin their long journey to Africa or Eastern Europe.

Lough Gur Storytelling Festival
Each year we love the challenge of finding storytellers and a good story so that pupils can take up the invitation to participate in the annual storytelling festival in the Honey Fitz Theatre in Lough Gur. This year 2nd Class pupils Aislinn O'Dea and Sinéad McCarthy took to the stage with their rendition of The Old Woman And Her Pig. The girls' entertaining telling of the story was well received by the audience and the adjudicators and they were proud winners of the Junior category of the competition at the end of the evening.
