The teachers and pupils of Cloverfield NS take great pride in their handwriting and the pupils are encouraged and helped to develop a fluent style as they progress through the school. During the past 6 years we have had 5 winners in the Limerick final of the annual handwriting competition, the most recent being Grace Holmes from Junior Infants who was the 2010 1st prize winner in Category A, so following in the footsteps of former winners Dylan Holmes, Theresa Bermingham, Rachel Kenny and Darragh Carroll! Well done and congratulations to all!
Operation Christmas Child
Each year,we in Cloverfield NS become part of this tremendous project which sees thousands of shoe boxes packed with little gifts and wrapped in Christmas paper leaving on their journey to countries in the developing world. The joy that these boxes bring to their recipients can only be imagined by those of us who are fortunate to have so much.We are delighted to have over 50 boxes leave Cloverfield NS each year to bring some Christmas cheer to less well-off children.

Lough Gur Storytelling Festival:
The pupils of Cloverfield look forward to this event each October.
Great fun is had in listening to stories as pupils are selected to represent the school in the Honey Fitz Theatre. 2008's storytellers were 2nd class duo Robbie and Eoghan who greatly impressed both audience and adjudicator with their story of Oisín in Tír na nÓg. 6th class pupil Marie was the Senior entrant and her dramatic telling of "The Boy Who Had Knowledge" was a sure winner! In October, 2009, our storytellers once again made their way with family, friends and teacher to the Honey Fitz Theatre in Lough Gur. 2nd class pupils Niamh O'Dea and Niamh Hayes told their story entitled "Niamh" with great enthusiasm and expression. 6th class Méabh McCarthy told "The Boy Who Had No Story" and was declared the winner of the senior category of the competition at the end of a very entertaining evening. October, 2010 saw 6th class pupil Alan Dwane take to the stage with his story "The Fool and the Feather Mattress". Well done to all our "scéalaithe"!
Board Game Playing
This popular activity has now become an annual event when pupils all spend part of the school day playing favourite board games. The children bring in games of their choice as well as choosing from the ever-growing selection of games in the school's two classrooms. Not only do children learn how to play and enjoy a variety of games, they also learn to take turns, share and co-operate. The games are also great favourites during rainy day lunch breaks.
